The Cancer System Quality Index highlights both areas of success and opportunities to advance the quality and performance of cancer care in Ontario. It is intended to support health system providers, planners, administrators and policy-makers by tracking system performance and identifying cancer trends so they can build on strengths and plan for improvements.
Cancer System Quality Index 2020 reports on key hematologic, prostate, breast, lung and colorectal cancer indicators across 6 quality domains to provide a comprehensive, disease-site-based representation of cancer system performance along the care continuum.
Future editions will include more types of cancer and indicators along the continuum of care to ensure that the index is robust and fully represents a high-performing cancer system. See a list of Indicators Under Development.
